Frequently Asked Questions
The pressing instructions for DTF transfers are as follows:
1. Place the fabric to be transferred on a flat surface.
2. Place the DTF film on the fabric.
3. Set the heat press to 320-330 °F.
4. Apply even pressure for approximately 8-15 seconds.
5. While the film is still hot, carefully peel it off. (Our DTF transfers are hot peel.)
Yes, it is possible to press DTF transfers with an iron, but it may not be as effective as a professional heat press. There are some important points to consider when pressing with an iron:
1. Set the Iron to High Heat: Set the iron to the highest heat setting. Turn off the steam function as steam can prevent the transfer from adhering properly.
2. Place the Fabric Evenly: Place the fabric on a flat surface and pre-iron it to remove wrinkles.
3. Place the DTF Film: Place the DTF film on the fabric. It may be helpful to use a protective layer (e.g. baking paper) between the film and the fabric.
4. Printing Process: Place the iron on the DTF film and apply pressure evenly to each area. Move the iron continuously, but make sure to apply pressure to each area for approximately 15-20 seconds. It is important that the iron applies equal pressure and heat to each area.
5. Hot Peel: Immediately after pressing, carefully peel off the film while it is still hot.
DTF transfers made with iron-on transfers may be less durable than those made with a professional heat press. Therefore, it is recommended that you use a professional heat press if possible.
